Dispersing Agents (DAs) have many functions when used in pigment dispersions and paints. DAs help to separate and suspend pigment particles in water to improve grinding time. Keeping the particles from flocculating or settling after milling is another important function of a dispersing agent. By doing so, once the pigment dispersion is added to a white base paint, the particles distribute evenly and dry uniformly on a substrate, which leads to better color development. E-Sperse® 1200 series provides particle stabilization during both of these stages to improve the pigment dispersion’s performance in the paint.
